The Trion Fire Department responded to the scene of an illegal burn on Cumming Road last week.  According to fire officials, the fire consisted of several items that are not legal to burn.

The annual burn ban went in place on Sunday, May 1st and will continue through the end of the summer.  The Trion Fire Department is reminding people that even when it is legal to burn, it is never legal to burn household garbage.

The Trion Fire Department posted,  “Please remember that in Georgia it is unlawful, at any time, to burn man made materials such as tires, shingles, plastics, lumber, and household garbage, even in a burn barrel. Also, as a reminder beginning May 1st and ending September 30th EPD’s open burn ban will be enforced. If you have any questions please feel free to contact us.”
