The LaFayette City Council made some zoning and animal control ordinance changes at the monthly meeting, Monday night.

By a 3 to 2 vote, the City now requires “potentially dangerous dog breed” owners to have their animal on a leash and muzzled when taking them outside their home or fenced property.  Before, only a leash was required.

The LaFayette City Council cited public safety as the reason to muzzle breeds of dogs such as Pit Bulls and Rottweilers.
