Primary Election night in Chattooga County ended with a new board of education member and a board of education contest between two candidates this fall.

In the race for the Republican nomination for District 4 on the Chattooga Board of Education, the Lyerly District, Bonnie Fletcher handily defeated N. Terry “Popz” Henderson with 78% of the vote.  Bonnie Fletcher had 2,384 votes to Henderson’s 662 votes.

In the race for District 3 – the Menlo Seat – Lori Brady overwhelmingly defeated Steve Groves.  Brady had 1770 votes to Groves 1139 votes.  Brady will now face off with Democratic incumbent Lynn Hall who had no opposition in the Democratic Primary.

Governor Brian Kemp captured 66% of the vote in the Republican Primary in Chattooga County.  Kemp will be facing off with Democrat Stacy Abrams in November.  Chattooga County voters overwhelmingly supported Marjorie Taylor Greene in the Republican Primary with Greene capturing 74% of the vote.  Democrats in Chattooga County voted overwhelmingly for Marcus Flowers to run against Greene in November.  Flowers captured 74% of the vote in the local Democratic Primary.
