A Cooper Heights, Summerville woman called the sheriff’s office this week after she discovered someone had attempted to break inside her home and harmed her dog.

The complainant was disturbed because her Australian Shepherd had blood pouring down his face and his electric fence collar was missing.  The complaint told the deputy that when she got to her home to unlock the door, she found someone had tried to pry the door open.  Nothing was taken.

Neighbors said that they saw two men in the area and that they heard the dog making sounds as if he was in distress.

The responding deputy advised the woman to install security cameras and promised extra patrol in the area.
