The Trion Veterans Committee will be hold a Memorial Day program at the track field and Veteran’s Memorial Park on Simmons Street today at 1 PM.

The Master of Ceremonies will be Trion Police Chief David Gilleland.  Mayor Pro-Tem Mickey McGraw will welcome guests.  Trion School Resource Officer Dewayne Tinney will lead the invocation for today’s ceremony.  Linday Godfrey will be singing the national anthem and Councilman Don Harris will lead the pledge of allegiance.  Town Council Member Becky McWhorter-Wright will read the list of memorialized veterans and Eddy Willingham will recognize the living veterans in the Town of Trion.

U.S. Army First Sergeant Greg Baker will be the keynote speaker for the event.

Four new pavers will be dedicated today.  They will honor William Roy Clarke, Benjamin “Benny” Franklin Perry and Mr. Hoyt Williams.

The public is invited to the event to honor the Town of Trion’s veterans for Memorial Day.
