A forty-nine-year-old homeless man was charged with public drunkenness, interference with government property and obstruction of law enforcement as Summerville Police and Chattooga County deputies attempted to arrest and book him into jail.  Police responded to a call on Hawkins Street where Kevin Alphonso Boykin was causing a disturbance.  Boykin fought with officers attempting to get him the patrol car.  Officers used a taser twice on Boykin before getting him inside the vehicle. Once inside, Boykin is accused of kicking the roof of the patrol car, causing damage.  Officers were concerned that Boykin would kick the windows out of the vehicle, so they put him in another patrol car with bars inside.  Once at the jail, Boykin continued to resist officers and was placed in a restraint chair.  Boykin is accused of breaking a vent inside the patrol car.
