While checking on several “suspicious persons” at a South Main Street address last week, LaFayette Police made two arrests.

WQCH Radio in Lafayette reported:

The man and woman had several items in the back of a truck, they said they were selling. An LPD Detective happened to know that the home owner was in jail. Contact with him revealed that he had not given permission to sell any of his property.

A K-9 officer was called and the dog alerted on the Dodge Dakota pickup. Inside, officers found pills identified as Hydrocodone… and a substance that tested positive for Codeine.

The driver, 29 year old Kelsey Leann Wallin of Trion, was charged with drug possession and crossing the guard line at the jail with drugs hidden in her bra.

The male, 33 year old Justin Todd Love of LaFayette, was held on a warrant out of Whitfield County.

A small child, who was not in a safety seat in the truck, was turned over to the care of relatives.
