The City of Summerville City Council will hold their regular monthly meeting for the month of June coming up on Monday of next week.  Summerville Council meetings are held on the second Monday of each month at the council meeting room at Summerville City Hall. 

The council has been wrangling with the city’s budget and held a called budget meeting at the end of May.  Summerville Mayor Harry Harvey is wanting the council to increase the city’s utility rates by 2% to bring in an additional $109,580 to offset increased costs the city expects in the coming budget year.  City Council members have resisted that idea.  City Manager Janice Galloway says that the council could offset some of the upcoming fiscal year expenses by eliminating some proposed job positions that were in the new fiscal year budget.

The council will meet at 5 PM on Monday and the public is invited to attend.
