A road rage incident last Sunday ended with an Alabama teenager being arrested for firing a firearm at a passing vehicle.

A call came into Chattooga 911 from a driver who said that he and a thirteen-year-old juvenile were driving into Georgia from Cherokee County, Alabama when a truck passed them near the state line on Highway 114.  The truck then stopped in front of them and slowed down.  The complainant said that he then passed the truck, and as he passed the truck, the driver brandished a pistol and then fired three shots in his direction.

Deputies located the suspect, nineteen-year-old Dave Andrew Bankston of Collinsville, Alabama.  Bankston said that the other vehicle had cut him off.  Bankston admitted to having a gun but said he did not point it or fire it.  However, deputies found two spent casings in the vehicle.

Bankston was charged with discharging a firearm near a highway and reckless conduct and was booked into the Chattooga County Jail.
