A twenty-four-year-old Chattooga County man was arrested for DUI on Sunday off of Gore-Subligna Road.
According to a report from the sheriff’s office, a deputy observed a vehicle turn into a private drive off Gore-Subligna Road and then turn around and head the other way at a high rate of speed. The deputy followed the vehicle and said that the driver reached speeds in excess of 90 miles-per-hour.
The driver then pulled onto Mitchell Circle and came to a stop and placed his hands outside the window. While speaking with the driver, the deputy noticed that his speech was slurred and he showed other signs of being under the influence of alcohol.
Jonathan Randall Burnette of a Mitchel Circle address was arrested and charged with DUI for alcohol and fleeing or attempting to elude.
