A Summerville man was arrested on outstanding warrants from Catoosa County, Georgia and received additional charges for giving false information to the arresting deputy.

On Wednesday of this week, a deputy on patrol saw a man sitting outside the front door of the Dollar General store on the Lyerly Highway.  When the deputy approached the man, he started walking up the highway to avoid the deputy.

When the deputy caught up with the man he told the deputy that he was walking to the Circle K gas station and stopped to rest.  When asked to produce some identification, the man said he didn’t have any.  When asked to provide the last four digits of his social security number, the man gave the deputy false information.

Thirty-two-year-old Benjamin Thomas Wilson was arrested on the outstanding warrants and charged with willful obstruction and giving false information to officers and was booked into the Chattooga County Jail.
