A New Jersey woman was arrested last week in Rome after she attempted to purchase a cell phone with a fake ID.

According to reports from the Rome Police Department, twenty-one-year-old Roughi Yatou Diallo went to the Verizon store on Broad Street in Rome and attempted to purchase the phone.  Employees of the store notified police about the incident.

Diallo was charged with felony identity theft and misdemeanor giving a false identification to a law enforcement officer.  She was jailed in Floyd County on a $10,000 bond.
