Today’s scheduled property tax sale at the Chattooga County Courthouse has been canceled, according to Chattooga County Tax Commissioner Joy Hampton.

Tax Commissioner Hampton says:

No tax sale for July! 90 properties were originally sent letters for Tuesday’s tax sale. Of those, all but one have started or finished their payments. The one remaining property will be forwarded to a judicial tax sale for a later date if it remains unpaid.
Tax sales are the last resort to collect the taxes due, and having them resolved prior to tax sale action is something to celebrate!
TUESDAY’S TAX SALE IS CANCELED!”
