Sheriff John Everett told AM 1180 on Tuesday afternoon that two warrants had been issued in connection with a stabbing incident at the Menlo Barn Dance on Highway 48 during the New Years Dance. 

The Sheriff said that both of the wanted subjects are from Walker County and the authorities there are actively searching for the two men whose names have not been released. Sheriff Everett said that alcohol undoubtedly plaid a factor in the incident which left Jamie Tucker of Gaylesville, Alabama with a wound to his chest. 

The Sheriff said that it did not appear that Tucker was even involved in the initial argument that started off inside the dance hall and spilled over into the parking lot.  Sheriff Everett said that it would appear at this time that Tucker was an innocent bystander until he got pulled into the fight….however the investigation is still ongoing into the incident. 

Everett said that the two men that now have warrants against them were dropped off by a relative at the Dance Hall and called for a ride back with someone.   Sheriff Everett said that Tucker has been released from the hospital in Rome and is in fairly good condition and back home in Gaylesville.
