The Summerville City Council voted unanimously this week to approve a $5,000 donation to the Chattooga County Agricultural Fair that is coming up next month.
Since 2014, when the fair was revived in Chattooga County, the City of Summerville has consistently supported the efforts of the fair and the Chattooga County Fair Council. Along with a generous donation of monetary funds each year, the City has supported the effort with in-kind donations of equipment and labor and has also allowed the fair to advertise in the downtown area of the city with pole-banners giving information about the event.
The fair will be held August 25-28th at the Chattooga County Agricultural Center located on Hwy 100 in Summerville, GA. There will be daily livestock shows and blue ribbon displays under the Pavilion.
Peachtree Rides will once again provide the Midway for the fair. Enjoy thrilling rides and catch great musical entertainment on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. New this year to the fair is Mr. Puppet and Carrie McQueen Ultimate Stilt Walker.
General Admission will be $5.00 with more details to come closer to the fair. Armbands will be sold on the Midway daily for $25.00. Single ride tickets will be $1.25 each or 25 ticket for $25.00.
