According to a report from the Summerville Police Department that was released this week, police responded to a domestic dispute at Coach Inn on July 16th involving a woman who claimed that a man had tried to choke her.

When police arrived on the scene they spoke with Crystal Boswell who told officer that she and Darius Lawrence had been arguing and he had “grabbed her around the neck” when she tried to leave the room.  Police spoke with Lawrence who denied touching the woman.

A responding officer reported that he could see no physical signs of an altercation between the two.  The officer then reviewed video of the outside of the room that showed Boswell coming out of the room in an irate manner.  There was no video evidence of any assault on Boswell, according to police.  Officers then discovered that Boswell had a protective order against Lawrence in Floyd County and that she had violated that order by coming to see him in Summerville.

Officers later discovered that the argument had ensued because Boswell received a call from another man, but could find no evidence of a physical assault.

The two were separated and warned to stay away from each other.
