A LaFayette Police Officer was injured during a scuffle with a suspect being arrested on a felony warrant at a Cavender Street home last week.

WQCH reports that thirty-five-year-old Jacob Antonio Shropshire had escaped arrest previously, by breaking out a window of the home and running away.

According to the report on the Tuesday arrest, Shropshire tried to strike an officer with his elbow as he was being cuffed. Corporal Timothy V. Cook was injured as he took Shropshire to the ground in an attempt to gain control.

Corporal Cook drove himself to local Doctors for medical attention. Shropshire was jailed on the warrant… and was additionally charged with two counts of obstruction of officers.
