The Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call last Friday to the Pennville Church of Christ on Greeson Street.  When the deputy arrived, he spoke with a church member who was there to mow the grass and had noticed damage to the church building’s awning outside the sanctuary.  The church member showed deputies video footage of a Hispanic male driving under the church awning in a van with a solar panel strapped to the top of the vehicle.  The solar panel struck and damaged the awning and came loose from the top of the van.  The video showed the man and woman passenger get out and pick up the solar panel and pieces of metal from the church building’s awning and then leaving the premises.  The incident has been turned over to an investigator.
