The Summerville Police Department released a report this week about a DUI arrest that happened at the end of July.  According to the report, a Chattooga County Deputy initiated a traffic stop in the city limits of Summerville after he suspected a drunk driver.

When a Summerville Police officer pulled up at the traffic stop, he observed the driver of the stopped vehicle who appeared to be inebriated.  While talking to the driver, the man was leaning against the tail gait of his pickup truck to maintain his balance and had the smell of alcohol on his person.  When the officer asked the man how much he had to drink, the driver told the officer he had four beers and had come to the Willow Tree Grill to pick up some food.

The officer arrested the man on DUI charges.  On the way to jail, the man reportedly told the police officer that he hoped the officer died and his children died and they all got AIDS.

Fifty-two-year-old Tony Grant Colbert was booked into the Chattooga County Jail on charges of DUI, failure to maintain a single lane and a seat belt violation.  Colbert was arrested again on Wednesday of this week and charged with probation violation.
