A thirty-year-old Summerville woman was arrested and charged with theft of services at a C Street address in Summerville last week.

Summerville Police were alerted to the theft of services by a City of Summerville Water Department employee.  On the scene, the responding officer observed where a water hose had been hooked to a meter and was running to what the officer termed “an elaborate” water storage and pumping system near the residence.  The officer also observed that the residence appeared to have illegal power running to the house.

When the officer spoke with Heather Nicole Corey, she admitted to picking the lock on the water meter.  In fact, she asked the responding officer if he wanted her to show him how she picks locks.  According to Summerville Police, the theft of services has been an ongoing issue at this particular location.

Corey was charged with diversion of services and tampering with utilities.
