A Chattooga County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to the McDonald’s restaurant parking lot last week to speak with a complainant who said a handgun had been stolen from his vehicle.  According to the report from the sheriff’s office, the complainant said that he left his Taurus 380 handgun in the floorboard of his Honda CRV in front of McDonald’s early on Thursday morning.  When he returned to the vehicle, the complainant noticed that the handgun was missing.  Surveillance cameras from McDonald’s did not reveal who might have stolen the handgun.  The firearm was listed as stolen by the sheriff’s office and the incident was turned over to an investigator.
