A thirty-year-old Summerville woman was arrested earlier this week after Summerville Police observed her to be under the influence while walking on Bittings Avenue. When an officer approached the woman she began performing, what appeared to the officer, a sobriety test by removing her shoes and standing on one leg. When the officer asked what she was doing, she told the officer that she knew “how it goes” when a person has to provide a sobriety test. The woman at first told the officer that she had vertigo, but later admitted to drinking alcohol and told the officer she was walking to her ex-husband’s house. Brittany Leigh Sturgeon was arrested and booked into the Chattooga County Jail on charges of being a pedestrian under the influence.
