Commissioner Jason Winters Reported to AM 1180 that road crews have been working to clear roads since around 3 o’clock this morning. Winters stated that snowfall levels vary between 6 to 8 inches throughout the county. He reported that county road crews are working to clear main roads and that there are crews stationed in the following areas: Trion and Teloga, on the Mountain, in Gore and Subligna, Holland and Chattoogaville, Lyerly and Menlo, and in Summerville. Winters said crews are working to clear secondary roads, but the work is slow because of the depth of the snow. Commissioner winters urged drivers to stay off the roads unless travel is absolutely necessary. Winters said County officials are working with 911 and Chattooga EMS to ensure they are able to operate efficiently. County Sheriff and Summerville Police Departments are out and about patrolling and answering emergency calls. AM 1180 will be talking more with Commissioner Winters and Lamar Canada as the day progresses. Stay tuned to AM1180 and continue to visit our website for updates on the winter weather.
