The CEO of AtriumHealth Floyd was in Chattooga County this past week talking about the freestanding emergency room the hospital plans to build in Chattooga County and said that the new facility could be open as soon as May of next year.
Kurt Stuenkle was at the Chattooga County Planning Committee meeting along with other members of the AtriumHealth Floyd staff to talk about the facility which will be the company’s first in Georgia. Atrium operates several of the freestanding emergency rooms in North Carolina.
Stuenkle is predicting the opening of the 10,800 square foot facility in May and said “the sooner the better”. Stuenkle said that he believes that the new facility will save lives and provide better options for Chattooga County residents.
Blox Construction from Bessemer, Alabama will be the contractor for the new emergency room which will be constructed near Wal-Mart on Highway 27 just south of the Trion town limits.
