The National Weather Service in Peachtree City, Georgia announced on Thursday of this week that there are no signs of drought in the entire State of Georgia.
The weather service posted on social media:
For the first time since October 12, 2021 (45 weeks or 317 days if you’re a numbers person), there are no mentionable drought or pre-drought conditions across the state of Georgia.
With a large portion of the state seeing around 19 days of significant rainfall so far during the month of August, it is safe to say that we are not having a typical dry end of summer. This is in stark contrast to the month of June, when only 12 days of rain were recorded during a month when afternoon temperatures reached the upper 90s to low 100s.
