The week off for winter weather means that students in the Chattooga County School system will have to make up some school, but School Superintendent Dwight Pullen says that as of right now, only one day will have to be made up.

Dr. Pullen told The Summerville News: “We will have missed five days by the time it’s over. But we don’t have to reschedule but one of them right now,” County Schools Superintendent Dr. Dwight Pullen said. “They changed the law a couple years ago and gave us four grace days. Right now, if we don’t miss any more the rest of the year, we will have to make up one. We will just try to pick a day that will not interfere with too much. The nice thing about the four-day week you can do a Monday or two now and then.”

Dr. Pullen said that it is still too early in the winter season to determine when make-up days might come, saying: “We will wait probably until deeper into winter and see how many more days we miss. Then we will get a game plan for making them up,” Dr. Pullen said.
