
The latest data from the Georgia Department of Public Health shows that the threat of COVID-19 transmission in Chattooga County has been reduced from “high” to “medium”. That’s good news as it is the first time in several weeks that the threat level has gone down.
The Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta has three rankings for COVID-19 transmission in communities: high, medium and low.
Back in April of this year, public health officials began reporting COVID-19 numbers weekly instead of daily. Those reports are released by Thursday of each week.
While the overall threat level has gone down, hospitalizations from COVID-19 have remained steady with between 30-40 COVID-19 patients in area hospitals.
