COVID-19 cases in Northwest Georgia are at their lowest since June of this year, according to the latest number released by the Georgia Department of Public Health.

After last week’s report, Chattooga County dropped from from the high transmission category to the medium transmission category.  The CDC has three categories for COVID-19 transmission: high, medium and low.  The reports are released each Wednesday for the previous week’s numbers.

Although the reported number of COVID-19 cases did drop in Chattooga County last week, there was one COVID-19 death reported.

Last week there were 19 COVID-19 cases reported in Chattooga County – this week that number has dropped to 9.

Advent Health Redmond reported 11 patients hospitalized with COVID-19 last week and Atrium Health Floyd had 11 as well.
