A veteran with a cowboy hat and a controversial, one-term Congresswoman are battling it out in a race to represent Northwest Georgia in the U.S. House of Representatives – and that race is proving quite costly.

So far, Democrat Marcus Flowers has raised more money that incumbent Marjorie Taylor-Greene, but it is an uphill battle for Flowers in a staunchly conservative district that overwhelming elected Greene to represent them.

Over $21 million has been raised between the two candidates and they have spent about $18 million of those campaign dollars and are spending and raising more money between now and November.   So far, Flowers has out-spent Greene.

Hometown Headlines pointed out this week that the two candidates have spent about $29 for every person in the district.  There are more than 732,000 people in the district.
