With nearly a month under their belts, Atrium Health Floyd EMS ambulances are becoming a familiar sight in Chattooga County.  Chattooga County Commissioner Blake Elsberry made the switch to Atrium Health Floyd EMS earlier this year after terminating a contract with Advent Health Redmond to provide service in the county.

Atrium Health Floyd says that the service in Chattooga County reflects a $1 million investment in new vehicles and equipment in the county.  Floyd says that they have thirty-five EMT’s in the county and have five ambulances stationed to transport patients.

In addition to providing regular ambulance service, Atrium Health Floyd EMT’s are at all home football games at Chattooga High School and Trion High School. These first-responder teams also serve as support for Atrium Health Floyd’s school-based certified athletic trainers.

Atrium Health Floyd’s says that their partnership in Chattooga County will provide training for rescue and lifesaving procedures for area fire departments and other first responders.
