According to a report released this week by the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office a deputy responded to a “Be On The Lookout” (BOLO) call from Chattooga 911 last Thursday concerning a vehicle that was driving erratically.

A deputy said that he observed the vehicle parked at the service station near Dot Johnson Drive off Highway 27.  When he approached the driver, the deputy could smell a strong odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle.  The driver admitted to the deputy that he had driven from another convenience store to the location.

After failing field sobriety tests, Joshua Allen Bates was arrested and taken to the Chattooga County Jail on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol.
