It’s the kick-off to fall events in these parts – SumNelly is happening today at Dowdy Park in Summerville.
The event got it’s name from a play on words with a Chattooga County twist. The idea behind the name is you can get “some” of “nearly” everything at the arts and crafts event – and of course the event takes place in the county seat of Summerville.
Vendors registered to show their wares and sell their items with the Summerville Recreation Department that has coordinated the event for over 30 years.
Earlier this week, some were wondering if Hurricane Ian would wreck havoc on the event, but today’s weather should be perfect for SumNelly. The forecast is calling for just a 20% chance of rain and otherwise, sunny skies and a high of 75 degrees.
The festival will take place from 9 AM until 3 PM at Dowdy Park.
