The 73rd Annual Coosa Valley Fair opens this evening at the Coosa Valley Fair Grounds in Rome at 5 PM.  The fair will run through Saturday of this week.

For over seven decades, the Coosa Valley Fair has been sponsored as a service project by the Exchange Club of Rome Georgia. The Fair is actually managed by a separate organization called the Coosa Valley Fair Association. All members of the Rome Exchange Club are voting members of the association, but the day to day management and planning is left in the hands of an elected Coosa Valley Fair Board of Directors.

The fair welcomes entries from residents across Northwest Georgia and neighboring counties in Alabama.  There are livestock shows along with blue ribbon entries.

Some of the highlights of this year’s fair include:

  • Space Adventures Thrill Show, which features a trampoline wall, fire performance, comedy juggling, and motorcycle globe of death
  • Circus Incredible, a show of airborne acrobatics and precarious balancing acts, and consists of a seventh-generation circus performer of the renowned “World Famous Wallenda Family,”
  • Michael Frisbee, Magician, Comedian, and Entertainer.
