The Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary that was reported last week on Marble Springs Road in Summerville.

According to a report released on Tuesday by the sheriff’s office, the incident was reported on October 5th.  Melissa and Travis Beavers said they returned to their home and found that a door had signs of forced entry.  Upon investigation, the couple found a handgun, a rifle and a jewelry box were missing from the residence.

The couple identified a possible suspect to sheriff’s investigators.

The incident is being investigated by the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office.
