The number of COVID-19 cases reported in Chattooga County was down slightly since last week to eighteen, according to the latest numbers released on Wednesday from the Georgia Department of Public Health. Last week their were twenty COVID-19 cases reported, which was a jump from zero cases the week before.   According to this week’s numbers, there have been 33,587 deaths statewide from the virus and 6,861 probable cases.  The Georgia Department of Public Health has also updated the vaccination rate numbers.  Currently, 45% of Chattooga County residents have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine and 39% have received both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.
