A Chattooga County man was arrested in Floyd County earlier this week after a violent encounter with his ex-wife. 

According to a report from the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office, a 911 call was made and while en route, a deputy heard a “Be On The Lookout” call for a yellow Dodge Charger being driven by Willie Stubbs.  When the officer arrived at the complainant’s house, he spoke with Stubbs’ ex-wife who described a heated, physical altercation between her and the suspect.  The complainant said that Stubbs had agreed to retrieve his belongings from the residence earlier, but became violent while at the residence.

Part of the altercation between the complainant and suspect was caught on video by the couple’s fourteen-year-old daughter.  Stubbs is said to have caused bodily harm to his ex-wife and at one point head-butted her causing a laceration on her lip.  The suspect was also accused of breaking down the back door of the residence and smashing his children’s tablet before fleeing the residence.

Stubbs was stopped in Floyd County and brought back to the Tidings area by Floyd County Police where he was picked up by a Chattooga County Sheriff’s Deputy.

Stubbs was charged with aggravated assault under the Family Violence Act, burglary, criminal damage to property, interfering with calls for emergency assistance and cruelty to children.
