The Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call on Old Teloga Crossroad last week concerning a possible burglary.

When a responding deputy arrived on the scene, he spoke with a neighbor who had noticed that the front door to a residence was standing open.  The neighbor said that he knew that the owner was away and the door shouldn’t be standing open.

The owner, identified as Eddie Wallace, told the responding deputy that someone had been inside the house and appeared to have slept in a recliner.  Also, the burglar helped themselves by cooking “two packs of deer meat”.

The front door of the residence appeared to have been pried open.

Wallace identified a possible suspect to the deputy.  The case was turned over to an investigator.
