This week, Georgia Fire & Insurance Commissioner John King’s office reported that a Walker County man was charged with first-degree arson.

The Fire Commissioner’s office said that sixty-year-old Timothy Beard intentionally set fire to a bed at a home on Ellis Drive in Rossville on October 6th.  According to the report, the fire was set in the master bedroom of the residence.  Three occupants, the owner and two renters were at the home at the time of the fire.  Beard reportedly set the fire and left the house without warning any of the other occupants.

The State Fire Investigations Unit assisted the Rossville Police and Fire Departments in the case.
