On Tuesday of this week, Summerville Police received a call about a possibly impaired driver. A Summerville Police officer spotted the car and followed it until it turned in at George’s Kwik Stop off Highland Avenue. When the officer approached the driver, he could smell a strong odor of alcohol on the man. When asked for his driver’s license, the man gave the officer a Georgia Identification Card because his license was suspended. The driver told the officer that he had been arguing with his wife and his mother, and admitted to drinking earlier in the day. Thirty-one-year-old Norberto Hernandez was arrested and charged with DUI and driving while license was suspended and was booked into the Chattooga County Jail.
