Walker County Sheriff Steve Wilson said that a woman who was shot by her husband last week has been released from the hospital, but the manhunt continues for her husband who shot her in the back.
Sheriff Wilson told WZQZ News that the woman was released from the hospital on Monday of this week.
The shooting happened on the 14000 block of E. Hwy 136 Lafayette, Georgia. Sheriff Wilson says that John Robert Wells fled into a wooded area as deputies arrived on the scene.
Wells is charged with two counts of aggravated assault in connection with the shooting of his wife, and also is facing outstanding aggravated assault warrant for his arrest in a unrelated incident two weeks ago, according to the Walker County Sheriff’s Office.
Anyone with any information about Wells whereabouts should contact 911. He is believed to be armed.
