On Sunday, Chattooga County deputies and Trion Police responded to a call about a woman who had cut a man with a knife and later “headbutted” him at the Dollar General Store in the Town of Trion.

Officers determined that Shelby Ella Rae Williams had cut the victim and Williams admitted to having the knife in her pocketbook when approached by law enforcement.  The victim said that the suspect wore the knife “around her neck” in a “Crown Royal bag” and had cut him on the wrist.  Law enforcement could see where the victim had been assaulted, according to a report from the sheriff’s office.

The suspect was arrested on Rose Circle and charged with aggravated assault under the Family Violence Act and was booked into the Chattooga County Jail.

Williams claimed that the suspect, who was her ex, had assaulted her first.
