A twenty-seven-year-old man was arrested at a checkpoint being conducted by Chattooga County Sheriff’s deputies last Thursday after he was found to be driving under the influence of marijuana and suspected methamphetamine was found inside his pickup truck.

Deputies say that Ronald Garett Mobley started flashing his lights and was weaving over the yellow line when he pulled up at the checkpoint.  Officers determined that Mobley was under the influence and asked him if he had any marijuana.  Mobley replied that he had a “quarter bag” of marijuana in the pickup truck.  Officers found the suspected marijuana, along with a pipe with suspected methamphetamine residue.  Mobley also had a .40 caliber handgun inside the vehicle.

Mobley was arrested for DUI, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, possession or use of drug related objects, possession of marijuana less than one ounce and violation of the Georgia Controlled Substance act for possession of methamphetamine.
