There was one person that survived the fatal crash on October 30th in Lyerly that killed four people, including three Chattooga High School students.  Twenty-seven-year-old Winifer Reynoso Cigarroa was transported from the scene of the accident to Atrium Health Floyd in Rome, where she has remained in serious condition since the accident.

A Lyerly church posted an update on the woman’s condition late last week saying, “Please keep Winnie Reynosa in your prayers. She was the only one who survived the crash on Halloween weekend and is still in ICU. She has a lot of things broken, 2 fractures in her spine, collarbone, and most of her ribs. A punctured lung and a collapsed lung . She’s on a ventilator, on life support right now, and very sedated. She has three little girls, an 8 year old and 5-year-old twins. Please keep Winnie and her girls in your prayers for healing. She needs to be home with her babies.”

The Georgia State Patrol reported that the Audi automobile involved in the single-vehicle accident failed to negotiate a curve and hit a culvert and utility pole, then hit another culvert and vaulted 82 feet in the air and rolled at least three times before landing on its wheels.  See related story from WZQZ
