The Chattooga Indians wrestling team doesn’t pull any punches when it comes to their skills on the mat. With half of their season over, the team has celebrated several victories and continues to look for future pins. This past weekend the North West Georgia Duals wrestling tournament was held at CHS. Ten teams from across the North West Georgia area traveled to Chattooga to compete on Saturday, January 22nd  . The Indians took 5th place beating Pepperell in the last round.  Coach Clay Livingston commented that junior Brandon Siffles had an exceptionally good week in wrestling as he went 9 and 0 in the past three matches including Saturday’s event. The Indians will travel to a duals match at Clark Central Satruday, January 29th , and a tournament in Dade County on February 4th and 5th.

This past weekend, February 4th – 5th, the Indians competed in the Area 7AA Championships. Junior Brandon Siffles and Sophomore J.J. Blankenship were named Area Champions. Freshman Drew Jackson placed 4th and Senior Aaron Carillo placed 5th  . Blankenship, Jackson and Siffles will wrestle this weekend, February 11-12, at Sectionals in Sonoraville. If they place well, they will continue to the state finals in Gwinett the next weekend. Congratulations to these athletes and good luck grapplers!
