A seventy-year-old Silver Creek woman has been charged with misdemeanor homicide by vehicle in the second degree in connection with the death of a twenty-five-year-old Summerville man over Thanksgiving weekend.

According to Floyd County Jail records, Nancy Jane Smith is accused of failing to yield while making a left-hand turn on Georgia 101 in Floyd County last weekend in the Silver Creek area.  Smith was attempting to turn into the parking lot of a convenience store when she turned into the path of a northbound Toyota Camry.  Summerville resident Justin Little was a passenger in that vehicle and was killed as a result of the injuries sustained in the crash.

Smith was booked into the Floyd County Jail this week on the charges after an investigation by the Floyd County Police Department.
