Rome Police are asking for the anyone with information about a shooting Saturday night to call their investigations team, and in the meantime have charged a twenty-year-old man in connection with the shooting death of an unnamed victim.
The suspect that has been arrested and charged with murder is a former defensive lineman for the Rome High Wolves. Police believe Idris Dsu Dennis, Jr. of Rome shot another man in the chest on Saturday around 8:30 PM. The victim was transported to Atrium Health Floyd, where he was pronounced dead. The body of the deceased has been sent to the GBI Crim lab for an autopsy.
Police secured a murder warrant and arrested Dennis a short time later. He surrendered without incident, according to Rome Police.
