UPDATED WITH STATEMENT FROM CHATTOOGA COUNTY SHERIFF MARK SCHRADER (1 PM – Sunday) 

An armed robbery was reported on Highway 48 just outside of Summerville on Saturday night.  According to reports, two black males, dressed in black and wearing sunglasses, entered the Highway 48 Food Mart, located at 1360 Highway 48.  One of the suspects was armed and the other was carrying a backpack.  It is not known at this time how much was stolen during the robbery.  WZQZ News is working to get more information on the robbery.  According to reports, there was no description of the suspect’s vehicle given.  We will have more information as it becomes available from local law enforcement. Sheriff Schrader said on Sunday afternoon, “On Saturday. December 10th, 2022 at approximately 9:40 pm two individuals entered the Hwy 48 Food Mart located just outside of Summerville on Hwy 48 and robbed the owner of the store at gunpoint. Investigators and deputies responded and are currently investigating. We are reviewing what video we have and looking through evidence collected to try and determine the identity of the individuals. We will release more information as we can.
