Centre Police responded to a call about masked protesters at the Cherokee County Courthouse last Saturday.  The protesters were holding posters with white supremacist’s messages and had their faces covered.

When police arrived on the scene, they asked the protesters to remove their masks.  Under Alabama law, it is illegal to stage a protest in a public place while wearing masks.  Centre Police said, “The individuals refused to remove their masks and left”.

Police said that it was later determined that none of the protesters were from the Cherokee County, Alabama area.
