A Northwest Georgia man was arrested after he assaulted the woman who had bailed him out of jail.  According to Floyd County Police, thirty-five-year-old Jarad Thomas Michael Sanders of Lindale was arrested after police stopped him following the assault.

The victim told police that she had allowed Sanders to stay with her for a while after he got out of jail, but had told him he was going to have to leave.  At that point, the victim said Sanders took the victim’s pistol and put it against her head and told her he would kill her and her son.  Sanders then left the residence with the pistol and the victim’s cell phone.

Officers stopped Sanders a short time later and found the victim’s pistol and cell phone in Sanders’ possession, along with a large amount of marijuana and methamphetamine.

Sanders was booked into the Floyd County Jail, charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats and acts, pointing a firearm at another, obstructing someone from calling 911, felony theft by taking, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug-related objects.
