Last Friday night, Summerville Police received a call about the driver of a vehicle pointing a gun at a pedestrian on Martin Street.

When police arrived on the scene, they spoke with Jacob Caldwell who told police he was standing on the sidewalk when a black Cadillac Escalade drove by and the driver yelled at him.  Caldwell said he yelled back and the driver of the vehicle then stopped and got out of the vehicle and pointed a pistol at Caldwell.  Caldwell said the two exchanged words and the driver got back in the vehicle and left.

Police spoke with a juvenile witness who said that she heard a commotion and first looked out her window, then opened the door.  All she saw was the black Cadillac driving off and never saw anyone pointing a gun.

Police located the driver of the Cadillac who said that when he drove by Caldwell yelled at him.  He got out and yelled back and Caldwell and then left the scene.  He denied pointing the gun at Caldwell.

Police said, “Based on the conflicting information and the fact that no sufficient witnesses were present, this case is deemed unfounded”.
